With the Tony nominations released May 5, it is time to predict this year’s big winners. Three time Grammy Award winner P!nk is set to host the 79th Annual Tony Awards live from Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 7, and the energy is already through the roof.

Leading the pack, the rock vampire thriller The Lost Boys and the musical comedy satire Schmigadoon! dominate the conversation with a staggering 12 nominations each. Close behind is the soaring revival of Ragtime with 11. It has been an incredible, nostalgic season on Broadway, but who will actually walk away winners?
Starting it off is Best Musical:
- The Lost Boys
- Schmigadoon!
- Titanique
- Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)
For this category, it feels like The Lost Boys has the edge. The production has brought a fresh energy to Broadway with its cast, score and set design. Its biggest competition appears to be Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York). While Schmigadoon! matched Lost Boys in nominations, the overall momentum surrounding The Lost Boys could help push it over the top.
Best Revival of a Play:
- Becky Shaw
- Death of a Salesman
- Every Brilliant Thing
- Fallen Angels
- Oedipus
Two productions stand out in this category: Every Brilliant Thing and Death of a Salesman. While Death of a Salesman carries the bigger name recognition, Every Brilliant Thing may have the momentum to secure the award. Daniel Radcliffe delivers an emotional performance that has resonated strongly with audiences throughout the season.
Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical:
- Nicholas Christopher, Chess
- Luke Evans, The Rocky Horror Show
- Joshua Henry, Ragtime
- Sam Tutty, Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)
- Brandon Uranowitz, Ragtime
This may be one of the most competitive categories of the night. Every nominee delivered powerhouse performances, but Joshua Henry appears to be the frontrunner. With Ragtime extending its run twice, Henry’s commanding performance has become one of the defining performances of the Broadway season.
Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play:
- Will Harrison, Punch
- Nathan Lane, Death of a Salesman
- John Lithgow, Giant
- Daniel Radcliffe, Every Brilliant Thing
- Mark Strong, Oedipus
The race for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Play could come down to Daniel Radcliffe, John Lithgow and Nathan Lane. Radcliffe’s performance in Every Brilliant Thing has earned widespread praise, though the veteran stage presence of Lithgow and Lane makes this one of the toughest categories to predict.
Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical:
- Ali Louis Bourzgui, The Lost Boys
- Andre De Shields, CATS: The Jellicle Ball
- Bryce Pinkham, Chess
- Ben Levi Ross, Ragtime
- Layton Williams, Titanique
This category could be the closest race of the night. Andre De Shields remains a Broadway legend whose reputation alone makes him a major contender, while Ali Louis Bourzgui has emerged as one of the breakout stars of the season through his work in The Lost Boys. It feels like a true toss up heading into the ceremony.
There are SO many categories to look forward to but I predicted these off of what I’ve seen personally and can strongly say im 99% certain in my picks. If you wish to see the full list of nominations head to the Tonys website and feel free to pick yourselves.
