From June 1–9, several presentations highlighted trailers for games, marking what has been regarded as the closest thing to the return of E3. From presentations from big publishers like PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo to showcases of indie games from woman-led companies and those from black creators, dozens of games have been showcased in the past week. With a wide array of genres, everyone would be able to find at least one game they would enjoy. Here I have compiled a list of 20 interesting indie and AAA games that have been showcased that may interest you.
1. “Bulbo’s Belief System”
“Bulbo’s Belief System” follows the impressionable Bulbo as he navigates the world. Bulbo can only remember four things at a time, and whatever he believes to be reality. If a wall blocks his path, Bulbo can simply forget what walls are. The quirky puzzle game releases on PC in November 2026.
2. “Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve”
The “Ace Combat” franchise returns with its eighth mainline entry: “Wings of Theve”. The newest entries in the series allow the player to fly several aircraft and partake in realistic aerial combat. The story promises fun gameplay, challenges and high stakes. The title will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
3. “Canvas City”
“Canvas City” is a turn-based tactical RPG about rebelling in a dull world where public art is outlawed. Disc 2 Games’s first title allows players to be a part of a rebellious crew as they fight against rival crews for citywide dominance via graffiti. The title currently has no release date, but it will launch on both PC and Nintendo Switch.
4. “Clockwork Revolution”
“Clockwork Revolution” takes place in Avalon, a steampunk metropolis. The world is influenced by Lady Ironwood, who uses time travel to shape society in ways that benefit the upper class. The player can create a character who can also bend time, but doing so will have consequences in the present. The title releases on Xbox Series X/S and PC in 2027.
5. “Animal Game”
At the surface level, “Animal Game” may appear to be just another family-friendly platform fighter, but more lies underneath. The cutesy and bloody game implements roguelite elements to spice up the platform fighter genre. Each death is an opportunity to strengthen your fighter by mutating your cute critter. The game currently has a playtest available on Steam.
6. “Bancho the Chef”
“Bancho the Chef” follows Bancho from the hit game “Dave the Diver”. The game mixes cooking simulation with adventure elements and serves as a prequel. The title follows the character on his journey throughout his youth to becoming a sushi master. “Bancho the Chef” will launch on PlayStation 5 and PC when it releases.
7. “AGX GP”
“AGX GP” is an anti-gravity racing game akin to titles like “F-Zero”. Players can boost, slam, dash, jump and trackswap to gain speed. The game includes over 125 different challenges, five racing championships and unlockable items. The title will release only on PC during the third quarter of 2026.
8. “Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse”
This new metroidvania title from KONAMI takes place 23 years after the events of 1989’s “Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse”, which is set in 1476. The game follows Rose Belmont, the daughter of Trevor Belmont, who has to save Paris from devastation. The title releases Oct. 15.
9. “Sigils of Nightfall”
“Sigils of Nightfall” is a roguelike that combines elements of a dungeon crawler with those of a deckbuilder. The game features hundreds of cards designed by Thiago Lehmann that players can use and merge to attack horrifying enemies. The dark fantasy title will release exclusively on PC at launch.
10. “An Eggstremely Hard Game”
In “An Eggstremely Hard Game”, players play as a pair of ducks who must parkour together to transport their egg home safely. This quirky co-op title currently offers a demo that has already hooked many gamers. An Eggstremely Hard Game launches only on PC on July 24.
11. “Rizz Dungeon: Skeleton Key to My Heart”
“Rizz Dungeon” puts a quirky twist on the dating simulator and combines it with a dungeon crawler. Play as Taffy, who’s had her stuff stolen by her evil dragon ex. It’s a player’s job to date other girls to recruit them to fight for you so you can get your stuff back. The game, from the creators of the “Turnip Boy” franchise, launches on PC Sept. 17.
12. “Rhythm Heaven Groove”
The “Rhythm Heaven” franchise finally makes its return after a little over a decade. The new title features over 80 single-player games. The game also includes 30 games that can be played with three other players. “Rhythm Heaven Groove” launches on Nintendo Switch July 2, with functionality on Nintendo Switch 2.
13. “Blue Ridge Hunting”
“Blue Ridge Hunting” is a co-op horror game set in the Appalachian Mountains. Either by yourself or with up to four others, players can explore the eerie Appalachians. An additional mode offers a narrative-driven story where you and up to two additional players can hunt for cryptids in the woods. The title releases on PC in August.
14. “God of War Laufey”
The third entry in “God of War’s” Norse mythology timeline was revealed with 20 minutes of gameplay during PlayStation’s most recent State of Play presentation. The game will follow the goddess Laufey after her death before the events of “God of War” (2018). The title will likely be a PlayStation 5 exclusive when it launches.
15. “Dungeon Tourists”
“Dungeon Tourists” allows players to play as cat photographers with up to three other friends in procedurally generated dungeons. The game plays similarly to the Pokémon Snap games with its own quirky and cutesy world. The title will launch exclusively on PC.
16. “Nintendo Switch Sports Resort”
“The Nintendo Sports” franchise has evolved with a new entry exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2. Finding its origins with “Wii Sports” and evolving into a new generation with “Nintendo Switch Sports” in 2022, a sequel is on the horizon. “Nintendo Switch Sports Resort” promises to expand on its predecessor’s lineup of games with additions including Archery, Thumb Wrestling and Skateboarding. This new title arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 Oct. 22.
17. “Quantum Quartz”
“Quantum Quartz” reinvents the usage of the controller button pad in platformers. The platformer uses each direction to signify a color, and each color corresponds to a different ability. With a double jump, dash, wall jump and glide at their disposal, players will have to be strategic as they navigate the color-coded mines of this game. “Quantum Quartz” will release only on PC in 2027.
18. “Splatoon Raiders”
“Splatoon Raiders” marks the first spin-off game in the franchise. This title combines elements of “Splatoon’s” campaign with elements of its ‘Salmon Run’ mode. The game promises a combat and objective-based level system rather than levels designed around puzzle solving and navigation. The title will have a presentation diving deeper into the game’s story and mechanics June 30. The game launches on Nintendo Switch 2 July 23.
19. “Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered”
“Godzilla” returns to consoles after 2022’s “Godzilla: Voxel Wars”. This new title is a remaster of the 2002 game of the same name. The original title was released only on the GameCube, then on Xbox in 2003. The original game features Godzilla and many of his fellow Kaiju duking it out. A remastered version of this game releases Nov. 3 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.
20. “Gears of War: E-Day”
“Gears of War: E-Day” is the newest mainline entry in the “Gears of War” franchise. Having been seven years since “Gears 5”, this newest entry takes place 14 years before the events of the original “Gears of War” game and reinvents several elements of the franchise, including better destruction and greater mobility. This title releases on Xbox Series X/S and PC Oct. 6.
