On April 22, I attended the red carpet for opening night of Beaches the Musical on Broadway at the Majestic Theater.
Beaches is a story of a friendship like none other that lasts 30+ years, going through the trials and tribulations of rivalries, romances, and differences, until a diagnosis that brings them closer once again.
I saw the show on opening nights for previews and it’s a phenomenal show with such amazing performances. What blew me away the most was the talents of the young talent on stage where one of the girls did a handstand while belting, and it was just so incredible to see the future of Broadway in good hands.

The energy of the carpet was unmatched. People from the sidewalk cheering, the shuttering of cameras, and reporters asking their questions in such a high paced atmosphere.
I had the chance to speak with the principal cast like people such as Jessica Vosk and Kelli Barrett, who spoke on originating roles for the very first time, their vocal warmups and their mentalities dealing with difficult subjects.
I also spoke with the writer of the original novel Iris R. Dart, the composer and hall of famer Mike Stoller, about the music and story that has created the gold standard for friendships.
On top of the people who are behind the making of this amazing production, I got to have fun chats with VIPs like Paul Shaffer, Gabrielle Pizzolo, Danny Burstein, and so many others.
