Looking to jump-start the weekend a little early? Thursday nights at The Ties at Woodford Hall in Little Falls offer a mix of food, drinks and friendly competition with weekly trivia.
From 7 to 9 p.m. every Thursday, The Ties partners with Trivia Revolution, a Pequannock-based entertainment company, to host a four-round trivia event that draws teams of all ages.
The questions span familiar territory such as music, television, sports and geography, while also mixing in creative and novelty categories. Recent topics have ranged from actor Will Ferrell and musical instruments to mountain ranges, keeping players guessing, and laughing, throughout the night.
Trivia Revolution hosts events at pubs and restaurants across Essex, Passaic, Bergen and other North Jersey counties. In addition to trivia, the company also offers bingo nights, giving groups another interactive option for a night out with family or friends.
Winning teams take home a $25 gift card to the host restaurant, adding an extra incentive to compete.
In my first experience attending trivia night, nine teams filled the room, creating a lively and competitive atmosphere. While my team finished fifth overall, the night delivered plenty of fun moments, and just enough correct answers to keep us in the hunt.
