Black Friday weekend consisted of sales and crazy shoppers. The Weeknd also dropped two new fire singles that people are loving and talking about.

This was exactly three years apart from his triple-platinum upbeat album Starboy” in 2016. This was followed by the release of his emotional heartbreak EP “My Dear Melancholy” in 2018.

Like always The Weeknd’s music is reflective of his life experiences and speaks purely to his struggle, intimacy, and understanding of his reality.

After a year of only releasing a few features, the king of the fall is back and is working on his next album giving his fans a tease for what is to come. He recently reactivated his social media and has been tweeting and posting some clues to his next project.

His new single “Blinding Lights” first appeared in a Mercedes Ad for the all-new EQC X two days before it came out for people to listen to. “Heartless” the second single was produced by award-winning Leland Tyler Wayne is also known as Metro Boomin

Analyzing the new singles “Heartless” and “Blinding Lights” as a day one Weeknd fan is quite refreshing and captivating, however many rumors refer to the two singles as a continuation to Gomez drama. After the notorious break up between his tabloid-magnet relationship with Selena Gomez in 2016, fans find that all his lyrics scream heartbreak.

On one hand, many fans quickly pin the Selena Gomez break up to the somber lyrics he sings. Many fans also believe the lyrics are meant for model Bella Hadid. The Weeknd and Bella began dating back in 2015. During their break up he and Selena started dating in 2016.

In a tweet, fan Camille Marquez said, “We really have to thank Bella Hadid for her part of the breakup with The Weeknd because every time they split he comes out with fire music…Thank You Bella Hadid.”

In verse 1 of “Blinding Lights” The Weeknd sings, “I’ve been tryna call, I’ve been on my own for too long.”

In the chorus of “Heartless”, he sings, “And I’m back to my ways cause I’m heartless.”

The two clearly have relationship related lyrics, but provide evidence to his fans that regardless of which ex he refers to, he’s still recovering from his heartbreaks.

I think we can all agree that love is universal and makes great material for music. The Weeknd always had love content in his songs, yet fans love to bring Selena and Bella into the mix.

Let’s not forget that “Call Out My Name” from “My Dear Melancholy” was more obvious to connect to his breakup with Selena.

The line, “We found each other, I helped you out of a broken place, you gave me comfort, but falling for you was my mistake.” This is clearly describing the abrupt relationship he and Selena had shortly after his relationship with Bella.

“I almost cut a piece of myself for your life,” gave even more clear evidence that “Call Out My Name” was indeed dedicated to his relationship with Selena because of her kidney transplant during their relationship.

In any case, fans are thrilled to have yet another masterpiece from The Weeknd and more to come, most importantly the constancy of his unique sound and loyalty to his fans.
