After months of rumors, Pepsi has finally confirmed that singer, Jennifer Lopez along with Latin superstar Shakira will be teaming up to perform at Super Bowl LIV on February 2nd at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.

Lopez began her career as a dancer, appearing in musicals and various music videos.

The singer has won numerous awards in her career, including three American Music Awards, four Billboard Music Awards and two MTV Video Music Awards.

Shakira has won numerous awards as well. Three Grammy Awards and twelve Latin Grammy Awards, making her the most awarded Latin female artist of all time.

Both Latina superstars are excited to be performing at this year’s Super Bowl. “Ever since I saw Diana Ross fly off into the sky at the halftime show, I dreamed of performing at the Super Bowl,” Lopez said in a statement.

Shakira also has some positive remarks to say about the upcoming performance. “I’m so honored to be taking one of the world’s biggest stages,” she said.

Even though these women are two global superstars, there are people who are concerned about this performance. Many are saying they are not sure as to why they would perform together. Rumors have it that Shakira is not worthy of the Super Bowl, while others feel that she would do great during the performance.

Throughout the years Pepsi and the NFL created extravagant shows during the Super Bowl for fans to watch. Bringing in talents like Beyonce, Maroon 5, Lady Gaga, and Bruno Mars to grace the halftime stage, taking away some of the magic from the game itself.

Since fans have seen the best of the best perform at the big show, it is only fair that people express some concerns.

The Super Bowl performance will be a big celebration, no doubt about that.

Not only for everyone tuning in but for the Latin community as well.

Despite all of the negative comments, Lopez has stated that this performance will be special.

“It is the 100th anniversary, but also a marker of a new time. Not for the NFL, but this country. It is an important lesson for everyone. It will mean a lot to the community,” Lopez said.

“This is a true American dream and we are going to bring the show of a lifetime!” Shakira added.

There are many predictions on who will make it to Super Bowl LIV, but a fan favorite still lies with the New England Patriots who, once again are the betting favorites to win the Super Bowl.

The Patriots are currently 6-0 and show no signs of slowing down. Lead by 42-year-old, six-time Super Bowl champion quarterback, Tom Brady.

Don’t forget to tune into the Super Bowl on February 2nd.
