Shane Geene started playing basketball in fifth grade. In high school, he became a forward for the varsity team at Wallkill Valley Regional. By graduation in 2019, he chose to stop playing baseball and focus on his first love.
“I decided I wanted to commit to that,” Geene said. “And that’s how I ended up coming here to play at Willy P.”
Geene, who previously attended Moravian University and Sussex County Community College, transferred to William Paterson for his junior year in 2023-2024. Now in his senior season, he plays forward and center.
A psychology major, Geene hopes to become a sports psychologist.
