Disney is coming out with a new streaming service called Disney+ that will be available Nov. 12. The service will provide access to family-friendly content.

Now competing with Netflix, HBO Now and Apple TV+, the service will provide access to Disney and Fox content with exclusive TV shows, movies and documentaries. The service is $7 a month or $70 for a full year. The price is half the rate of HBO Now and cheaper than Netflix’s popular plan at $9 a month.

Hulu and ESPN+ are Disney’s other streaming services and will be displayed on the same platform so the three individual subscriptions can be subscribed under the same password and credit card information. The service takes full control over Hulu’s direction has them take on more adult content.

Disney+ offers a wide device support that can be streamed on phones, tablets, computers, connected TVs and streaming media boxes. The content that will be streaming  comes from the Disney brand itself along with Star Wars, National Geographic, Marvel and Pixar, as well as programming from Fox like “The Simpsons” and many more.

According to Digital TV Research, the television network will have an estimated 101 million paying subscribers by 2025. By the time the service launches, there will be 500 movies and about 7,500 hours of TV content streaming.

One of the shows that Disney+ will be bringing back is the popular Disney show Lizzie McGuire after 15 years of being off the air. The show will follow up from Lizzie’s struggles to fit in while attending middle school to her life now.

The original stars will be returning for a new sequel series such as Hallie Todd, Robert Carradine, and Jake Thomas as their original roles as Jo (mom), Sam (Dad) and Matt (brother) McGuire.

The revival series will show Lizzie navigating New York City exploring her life in her 30s. The actress, Hilary Duff, first broke the news on her Instagram in August.

“SURPRISE!!! I’ve been trying to contain this excitement for a loooong time while this has been in the works!,” exclaimed Duff. “I am beyond excited to be home again, back with my girl…and into her 30’s.”

Duff also noted, “The good news is, just like me and everybody who loved Lizzie and has grown up with her, Lizzie’s also grown up.”

It is also confirmed that Lizzie’s animated alter ego of her inner thoughts will be returning as well.

“She is still dealing with that 13-year-old no-holds-barred animated Lizzie that’s constantly babbling in her adult Lizzie head,” Duff said. “So she has to deal with that. But I think that’s what’s going to make it really special.”

There is no set date of when “Lizzie McGuire” will be returning, but it will be on Disney+ sometime in 2020. Fans will be counting down until the day comes.
