Fight Of The Century: Mike Tyson vs. Muhammad Ali’s Ghost.

On April 1, former heavyweight champions Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali held a 12-round exhibition match at Madison Square Garden in New York City. This fight may sound odd to some boxing fans given the fact that Ali has been dead since June of 2016.

“I had some unfinished business to attend to. I hear people in Heaven and on Earth saying I should have fought Tyson. Well, here I am,” Ali said at a press conference the day before the fight. Tyson attempted to counter with words of his own, but we all know words are not Tyson’s strong suit. Ali had a field day making fun of Tyson, saying “I can’t take a man with a tattoo on his face seriously.”

Ali continued by saying, “I might be dead, but I’m the best there is at being dead. I’ll beat this man. I’m the same guy that handcuffed lighting and threw thunder in jail!”

Although he is dead, he is still extremely cocky. Ali is best known for his use of rhymes during his press conferences. Although he would ridicule other fighters, he still showed them respect after the fight. However, this match shaped up to be a rivalry.

“Mike Tyson can’t even form proper sentences,” Ali said just before the conference ended. When the two entered the ring they touched gloves and began fighting. Tyson came in at an even 200 pounds, while Ali came in at a 250 pounds of deadweight.

This fight presented challenges for both fighters. Both have not fought in many years, especially Ali. However, Ali had the advantage as the cagey veteran who has been in wars before. Tyson hasn’t won a fight since 2003, but still had his speed and punching power. Plus, he’s not dead.

For the first two rounds, Ali was untouchable. Every combination Tyson threw seemed to go right through Ali. In the fourth round, however, Ali landed a huge shot that knocked down Tyson.

During the sixth round, Tyson attempted to bite off Ali’s ear but got knocked down after Ali nailed him with a left uppercut when lunging. Ali had all the momentum after that. He moved like mist and knew everything Tyson was going to do before he did it.

Tyson finally was able to stun the ghost with a body shot in the 11th round, but it was too late for him to make a comeback. Ali won every round, but the fight ended in a surprising draw. Fans were not happy with the decision, and neither was Ali, who tried to attack the judges.

“These judges are a joke. You’ve always been a joke!” he said. “Don’t worry, I’ll be back again. I’m coming for you!”

After Ali’s tirade, he suddenly disappeared. The building went silent. After a few seconds of silence, thunder shook the building. Ring announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr. said, “It seems that Muhammad Ali is back in Heaven, where he’s continuing his rematch with ‘Smokin’ Joe Frazier.”
