Early morning on September 28, an unknown student was involved in an armed robbery in William Paterson’s parking lot 6.
A push notification from WP Urgent was sent out alerting everyone that a victim was robbed and that no one was harmed, and the suspects fled in a vehicle.
A Beacon reporter spoke with the Community Police Desk to gather more information about the event, however, campus police were reluctant to share additional information beyond what was already publicized.
“I was really scared because it was really close to my dorm. We have to make sure we take precautions because this is very scary. I feel like we should have more security, said Bryce Tibbs, a student at William Paterson.
Another student, Asa Wharton added, ” It didn’t raise any fair but I feel like we have to be more protected that should have not happened.”
The Beacon confirmed with Mariangel Nunez, a residence assistant for Heritage Hall, that apartment buildings on campus do not have cameras.
Students are reminded to take advantage of William Paterson’s Safety Patrol and report any suspicious activities.
