Daniel Karp, Brian Montiel, and Lamont Hampton break down their predictions for WrestleMania 41!
Night 1: Saturday, April 19th at 7 pm
Rey Mysterio vs El Grande Americano
This is definitely going to be a fun match for fans who enjoy the Luchador high-fly style of Professional Wrestling. WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio and the newest high-flyer who is taking WWE by storm, El Grande Americano. This is a filler feud for the sake of getting Rey on the card, as he deserves it for sure. It’s going to be one of the least exciting matches on paper because there’s no stipulation, but I do believe this, as the opening match for Night 1 (I don’t think it will), can be an entertaining start to the weekend. It sucks Chad Gable is being left off this years Wrestlemania card again…
Editor’s Note: In the match predictions below, the name on the left represents who each contributor thinks will win the match, while the name on the right represents who they want to win.
Daniel Karp: Rey Mysterio / Rey Mysterio
Lamont Hampton: Rey Mysterio / Rey Mysterio
Brian Montiel: Rey Mysterio / Rey Mysterio
Jade Cargill vs Naomi
The buildup for this match has been fantastic, dating back to Jade Cargill’s attack in November 2024. Add Jade Cargill’s return at the Elimination Chamber and Bianca Belair’s role in the storyline. This is set up to be one of the best builds to a no-stipulation singles match of the entire weekend. I firmly believe that this feud will continue after WrestleMania and potentially set up a triple threat between these two and Bianca Belair at another major pay-per-view event.
Daniel Karp: Naomi / Jade Cargill
Lamont Hampton: Naomi / Naomi
Brian Montiel: Naomi/ Jade Cargill
World Tag Team Championship Match
The War Raiders (c) vs The New Day
This match, being on the WrestleMania card, seems out of place. As of this moment, the SmackDown Tag Team division is not on the card, and that is otherworldly! Raw has done such a bad job with their tag team division and it sucks because it is not the talents fault. The booking has just sucked. And speaking of “sucked” The New Day’s whole heel turn has been lacklustered to where this storyline is just not interesting at all. And as for the match quality, I don’t have very high hopes for it. If The New Day doesn’t win, I would be very concerned about their direction.
Daniel Karp: War Raiders Retain / New Day
Lamont Hampton: War Raiders Retain / War Raiders
Brian Montiel: New Day/ New Day
United States Championship Match
LA Knight (c) vs Jacob Fatu
If you told me LA Knight vs Jacob Fatu was a WrestleMania match 6 months ago, I would have been confused. Jacob Fatu vs a sandwich would be entertaining. That is how talented he is. As for the build for this match, LA Knight winning back the title was great for the midcard, but it may have been a little late in timing. I do applaud WWE for doing a good job of making the US Title scene interesting before WrestleMania. The match is going to be great with Fatu, and the megastar is always a treat to watch, still flourishing in year 3 but at age 42. I do see Solo Sikoa getting involved somehow, which could split the Walmart Bloodline again, so that will be an interesting narrative to follow moving forward.
Daniel Karp: Jacob Fatu wins the US Title / LA Knight
Lamont Hampton: Jacob Fatu wins the US Title / Jacob Fatu
Brian Montiel: Jacob Fatu wins the US Title / Jacob Fatu
WWE Women’s Championship Match
Tiffany Stratton (c) vs Charolette Flair
Tiffany Stratton vs Charolette Flair has a lot of pros and cons as a whole. First, this match has been on many bucket lists for the better part of a year now. This match is going to cook in terms of match quality. The story to go with it…not so much. First, Charlotte announcing her return and winning the women’s Royal Rumble was a disservice to the fans because nobody wanted to see that happen. If she won the Elimination Chamber, it would be much different. The build-up to this match has been weird, to say the least. The promo battles haven’t been great, and there’s nothing about them to make me excited for the match besides the in-ring quality it will present.
Daniel Karp: Tiffany Stratton Retains / Tiffany Stratton
Lamont Hampton: Tiffany Stratton Retains / Tiffany Stratton
Brian Montiel: Tiffany Stratton Retains / Tiffany Stratton
World Heavyweight Championship Match
Gunther (c) vs Jey Uso
The match that has received the most criticism of all is the one between the build and the Royal Rumble winner, Jey Uso. We saw Jey and Gunther go at it at SNME in January, and the week after, Jey won the rumble, setting this match up again. On paper, the match quality doesn’t sit well with fans, who have criticized the SNME match. The build for the match was lackluster for the most part, with Jey cutting a promo or having a match against a low mid-card talent, and then Gunther coming and attacking Jey. That narrative has changed over the last few weeks with WWE getting Jimmy Uso involved in the story. The brutal attack of Gunther on Jimmy Uso lit a fire under Jey, and the whole narrative of being scared of Gunther has changed. The last few episodes of Raw have made this match more engaging and very exciting to watch.
Daniel Karp: Jey Uso / Jey Uso
Lamont Hampton: Jey Uso / Jey Uso
Brian Montiel: Jey Uso / Jey Uso
Main Event
Roman Reigns vs CM Punk (with Paul Heyman) vs Seth Rollins
This might be the most unpredictable match of the entire weekend. The Main Event of night 1, as it should be, with this legendary triple-threat match, and the most definitive piece of this entire storyline is Paul Heyman, who is not a wrestler. We know these 3 men despise each other for different reasons. WWE has done a fantastic job of making this feel personal, and this build dates back to Survivor Series War Games, with the infamous Paul Heyman favor, which we now know was to betray Roman Reigns and be in CM Punk’s corner for the match. This has all the tools to be one of the best triple-threat matches of all time between 3 legends of the
business.
Daniel Karp: Seth Rollins / CM Punk
Lamont Hampton: CM Punk / CM Punk
Brian Montiel: Roman Reigns / CM Punk
Night 2: Sunday, April 20th at 7 pm
AJ Styles vs Logan Paul
The build has absolutely sucked for this match. But to be fair, this match does not even need a build. WWE is relying heavily on the in-ring quality of this match, and you should as well. AJ Styles is one of the best in-ring performers of this generation, and this feels like an unsanctioned retirement tour for him. Now, at age 47, he recently said that he will not wrestle at 50. Logan Paul is a great partner for Styles to entertain the crowd and put on a great match. Unfortunately, AJ Styles gets put in a lot of filler feud matches at WrestleMania, but they are all great matches.
Daniel Karp: AJ Styles / AJ Styles
Lamont Hampton: AJ Styles / AJ Styles
Brian Montiel: AJ Styles / AJ Styles
Sin City Street Fight
Damian Priest vs Drew McIntyre
Fans were not invested in this match, as we got the feeling it was the one after Elimination Chamber, when Priest rolled up Drew (Before CM Punk even came out of the pod). We saw Priest and Drew go at it in 2024, but it felt like a way to progress the Drew vs. Punk feud. The build-up for this match has been good, not great, but adding a stipulation to the
match has made it more exciting. I don’t know what WWE was thinking, making Drew a bloodline hunter to start 2025 and then turning him into a roll-up machine, but here we are. I think Drew needs to win this match 100%. Damian Priest has been excellent, and a loss will not hurt him here, in my opinion.
Daniel Karp: Drew McIntyre / Drew McIntyre
Lamont Hampton: Drew McIntyre / Drew McIntyre
Brian Montiel: Drew McIntyre / Drew McIntyre
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match
Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez (c) vs Lyra Valkyria & Bayley
Just like AJ Styles vs Logan Paul, this match has absolutely no build to it. I feel that WWE booked this match just to have Liv Morgan on the card and to get the Women’s Tag Titles on the card as well. The Women’s Tag Team division has been mediocre at best in 2025, and adding Bayley and Lyra Valkyria seems weird since they just feuded for the Women’s Intercontinental title doesn’t make sense. It also shows how poorly booked the new Women’s mid-card picture has been. I believe that this can be one of the best matches of the entire weekend in terms of in-ring quality, which is what makes it exciting.
Daniel Karp: Liv and Raquel Retain / Lyra Valkyria & Bayley
Lamont Hampton: Liv and Raquel Retain / Liv & Raquel
Brian Montiel: Liv and Raquel Retain / Liv & Raquel
Intercontinental Championship Match
Bron Breakker (c) vs Penta vs Finn Balor vs Dominik Mysterio
What a match this is going to be! I’m looking forward to this match because of its unpredictability and in-ring work. WWE has done a good job building this story up, especially with two Judgement Day members in the match. It feels only a matter of time before Dominik Mysterio turns on Finn Balor, kicking him out of the Judgement Day with this new member looming around. Penta has been great since debuting in January, and I have been a fan of Bron Breakker’s work in his second IC Title reign.
Daniel Karp: Bron Breakker / Dominik Mysterio
Lamont Hampton: Dominik Mysterio / Finn Balor
Brian Montiel: Bron Breakker / Penta
Women’s World Championship Match
Iyo Sky (c) vs Bianca Belair vs Rhea Ripley
This match, on paper, has a chance to be the best of the entire weekend. It is also the most unpredictable match of the weekend. The story surrounding this match has been superb, including Bianca Belair unexpectedly winning the Elimination Chamber, Iyo Sky winning the Women’s World Title from Ripley on a random episode of Raw, and the recent promos between these three. The only predictable part was Rhea Ripley being inserted into the match after dropping the title. This is going to be a fantastic match and can be the greatest Women’s triple-threat match of all time.
Daniel Karp: Iyo Sky Retains / Rhea Ripley
Lamont Hampton: Iyo Sky Retains / Iyo Sky
Brian Montiel: Iyo Sky Retains / Rhea Ripley
WWE Championship Match
Cody Rhodes (c) vs John Cena
The Main Event of Night 2 between WWE’s new poster boy, Cody Rhodes, and Heel John Cena is going to be absolute cinema with so much on the line. The story and build-up for this match have been so intriguing, even with Cena’s minimal appearances, as he is expected to appear on the final SmackDown before WrestleMania. I believe this will be similar to WrestleMania 40’s Main Event, with people coming out to interrupt. Maybe the Final Boss: The Rock and Stone Cold’s name has flurried around. In terms of in-ring quality, don’t expect a banger, but the personnel will keep you glued. This is going to be a historic match with John Cena chasing number 17, and it will have a massive effect on the rest of this retirement tour.
Daniel Karp: John Cena / John Cena
Lamont Hampton: John Cena / John Cena
Brian Montiel: John Cena / John Cena
