Mice have started coming into rooms in Century Hall before Spring break, according to some residents.
Many residents of Century Hall have found themselves in a very frustrating, draining situation, dealing with the mice coming into their dorm rooms.
Nasir Snipes-Guzman, a resident who has experienced mice in his room, shared how he first spotted one in his bathroom before leaving for break.
“My suitemate and I both put in a work order request which was ignored,” Snipes-Guzman said.
Snipes-Guzman also explains how when returning back to the dorms after break, he saw that “all of my snacks have been ran through, and they pooped everywhere: on my desk, and even my bed.”
Trinity Bowling, another resident who has dealt with this situation firsthand, talked about how she is worried about the health risks that could come with having mice in her living space.
“As a study-away student, this was supposed to be a fresh and exciting experience, something different from my home campus. Instead, I’ve been dealing with mice chewing through my nice shoes, leaving droppings all over my room, and causing me constant stress,” Bowling said.
These residents emphasize their stress and frustration from this situation, and their worries about rodents coming in and out of their room.
“Honestly, I don’t want to be here anymore,” Bowling said.
“The experience has been draining,” Snipes-Guzman said.
While not everyone in the hall has had an encounter with a mouse, those who are aware of them are just as livid.
“For all the money that I paid—like 4K plus— I didn’t pay all that to be sharing my living space with mice,” Stecy Pyronneau said.
